Water Sports

If you love Water Sports, Maremma offers kilometers of intact peaceful coastline with windy creeks, ideal for sailing and windsurfing. Not a coincidence if the Italian windsurf Olympic champion Alessandra Sensini was born and trained for years here in the Maremma.

The varied and rich sea bottoms are among scuba divers’ favorite destinations: the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, the biggest marine area in Europe, was established here in 1996

Sailing and Windsurf

Sailing in the Maremma is a real pleasure. Winters are never too cold and the Northwest wind blows permanently, making it possible for you to sail and windsurf all year round. The province of Grosseto hosts every year several international sail competitions and has some of the best sail schools in Italy such as the ones in Marina di Scarlino, Punta Ala and Castiglione della Pescaia.

Kite Surf

This worldwide popular sport has become familiar in Maremma as well, due to the peaceful beaches and the Northwest wind. Several schools are available to learn to practice this funny and original sport.

Diving and Snorkeling

Maremma sea is one of themost unspoiled of the Mediterranean Sea. Diving and snorkelling will guide you into a wonderful universe made of coloured posidonia field, sea fans, sea horses, moray eels, mullets, octopuses and every kind of Mediterranean fish.
